Community Impact Awards

 

 

Soroptimist International of Hutchinson 

 

 


Through our Community Impact Award program, SI Hutch honors two girls who are high school seniors for their volunteer service to their community and provides them with $500.00 awards. In addition, we give a matching $250.00 donation to the local non-profit organization of their choice. Application Form 

The winners of the 2020 Community Impact Award are:

 Alexis Zehr and Libby Schultz

.

Alexis Zehr is a graduate of Burrton High School. She has impacted her community by volunteering for the SI Hutch Women's Show, the American Red Cross, Horizon's Child Advocacy Center, commuinity-wide cleanup projects, and home projects for the elderly.

Libby Schultz is a graduate of Buhler High School. She led local projects which raised almost $11,000 for the Bright House Sexual Asssault & Domestic Violence Center and has volunteered with the Christian Soup Ministries. In addition, she mentors and assists schoolmates with disabilities in the Interpersonal Skills class at BHS and volunteered in the 5th grade classroom at Lincoln Elementary, where she also helped with their annual Haircuts & Hotdogs program & annual neighborhood cleanup event. 

Congratulations to these amazing young women who already have served their schools, churches, and communities in ways that truly have made a difference. We know they will make outstanding leaders in the future as they pursue their education and careers.
